Sri Lankan Cricket maestro, Mahela Jayawardene took social media site Twitter to disclose that he is flattered about him being linked for the post of the currently vacant coach’s job for Team India. However, he went on to clarify that he is not too interested to join any team on a full-time basis.

After the retirement, Jayawardene has been involved with various teams as a coach. He was the coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians this season that went on to win the tournament.

He also had a short stint with the English cricket team as the batting consultant and is also involved in the Bangladesh Premier League franchise Khulna Titans.
According to the reports on Sunday, Mahela applied for the currently vacant job of the head coach along with Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody.

However, Mahela Jayawardena was quick to deny all the reports of him being involved with Indian Cricket Team as he tweeted: “Flattered by speculation linking me to India coaching job but I am not looking at full-time positions right now.”

“I am completely focused on current commitments with MI and Khulna.”
