The end of a very torrid week sees Manchester United welcome Norwich to Old Trafford for Week 36 of the English Premier League. Manchester United’s record appearance maker Ryan Giggs, who has made 962 appearances and won 23 major trophies during a 24-year career with the club, has said that the he will still be making appearances as a player. (Read: Watch Ryan Giggs’ first press conference as Manchester United interim manager)

Giggs is unlikely to name himself in the United squad, and will probably look to inject some more pace into an attack that has lacked bite this season. Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck could be selected on the wings, with Juan Mata playing in behind Wayne Rooney.

Norwich are 17th in the English Premier League table, and are just two points above the drop zone having won just twice in their past 13 matches. Manager Neil Adams has 15 more days of senior managerial experience than Ryan Giggs and is yet to pick up a point since taking the hotseat following the sacking of Chris Hughton.

Neil Adams expects a “reaction” from the Old Trafford crowd due to Ryan Giggs’ first game in charge of Manchester United. Adams is unlucky to play United right before playing Chelsea and Arsenal. Very important games for Norwich if they wish to survive from the drop.

Robin van Persie and Rafael remain injured for the soon-to-be dethroned champions, while Patrice Evra is also a doubt and may not be risked, allowing Alexander Buttner another start at left-back.

Norwich have lost their last four top-flight matches, and their last three meetings with United.
