Michael Schumacher: The world welcomes the champ back!

As soon as the news about Michael Schumacher’s return to consciousness disseminated over the ever so humming social media, posts dedicated to him started popping out instantly. It certainly was the long-awaited news not only for his fans, but for everyone who know a thing about the seven-time formula one champion.

One draws back and realises it had been freaking 170 days of him being in a state of unconsciousness. December 29, 2013 it was when Schumi, as he is fondly called was up in the French Alps skiing and an unfortunate accident took place, when his right side of head struck with a rock which resulted in severe brain injuries to the champ.

At first the challenge for doctors at Grenoble Hospital was to see Schumi ‘’out of danger’’ and thankfully he started to show improvement after more than three months in a drug induced-coma, but his chances of recovery were very bleak then.In-between this tough time Schumi’s family kept encouraging themselves about his retrieval and were hopeful of this very day.

Schumacher who has record 91 race wins under his belt after more than two months of the accident showed small but encouraging signs of improvement. During the Formula One driver’s coma phase there were very few details regarding his condition available in the media as family wanted the privacy and medical secrecy. Doctors at one stage banked on a miracle for the Ex-Formula One champ’s recovery.

Update about his health earlier today was perhaps one of the best news in the sporting circuit in the recent past as he left the French hospital to continue his long phase of rehabilitation in the University Hospital of Lausanne, near his home in Switzerland. It indeed is a remarkable story!
