WWE Monday Night Raw edition this week was one of the best episodes in recent months which will very well lead to the company’s biggest summer pay-per-view Summer Slam. The Monday edition began spectacularly with a promo of last week feud between Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. It  wasn’t the main event of the night but it did sow the seeds of what seems to be a long running rivalry between the two. It was The Authority (Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Randy Orton, Kane, Money-in-the-Bank winner Seth Rollins) walked into the ring and made explosive announcements.

One cheeky line that got on your nerves was the one that was announced by Triple H- “You can watch any pay-per-view in this year for only USD 9.99!” Another major announcement for the night was made by Triple H was, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose would compete with Rob Van Dam and Albert Del Rio in a “Beat the Clock” challenge. Whoever wins the match between the two will choose the stipulation for their Summer Slam match.

But as Randy Orton took over the proceedings, the music of former Shield powerhouse Roman Reigns hit the arena. Temperatures flared, but it was Triple H who kept the situation under check. The COO of the company announced a promising match between Randy Orton and Roman Reigns at Summer Slam; and for the night it was The Red Demon Kane vs. Roman Reigns in a ‘Last Man Standing Match’.

The match between Kane and Reigns saw many turnarounds as none of the two were willing to drop their guard down. It was eventually Roman’s Superman Punch and a Spear maneuver that saw him winning the impromptu match. Roman won!

Next up was a promo video of the rivalry between Brock Lesnar and John Cena that is predicted to be the biggest match of this summer.

“Well who is Brock Lesnar? I am an a** kicking son of a b****,” said Brock Lesnar himself. The brief video also saw fiery remarks made by him for his opponent at SummerSlam, John Cena. On other hand, it was a rather emotional brief from John Cena, who like always was passionate in his video saying, “Come, get some!” As Jerry Lawler pointed out, the rivalry video surely gave us Goosebumps.

Check out the video for yourself here:

Damien Sandow continued his dumb run as he entered dancing on Oklahoma Sooners tune to ridicule the people of Texas. Sandow found an opponent in Mark Henry as the World’s Strongest Man hit the World’s Strongest Slam after hitting a clothesline and won the match by Pinfall. Henry drew huge applause in his home state Texas.

There was a segment backstage which involved Adam Rose and his Erotic Express members by his side; with Adam Rose staring into the mirror and finding a mirror image of himself as a businessman.

What ya gonna do, when Hulkamania rides wild on you, BROTHERR?

A good news for Hulkamania fans as the 11th August episode of Raw would see the company celebrating Hulk Hogan’s birthday with few special guests in tow!

The second hour saw the beginning of an exhausting match between Dean Ambrose and Albert Del Rio. Ambrose began the contest aggressively but it was Albert Del Rio who was in control of the match, most of the time. The first half of the fight saw Ambrose beating Del Rio while the other half was dominated by Del Rio. The clock kept ticking until Ambrose hit Del Rio with Dirty Deeds and won the match at 15:42 minutes.

Russian Rusev beat Mexican Sin Cara in under a minute, as the match got over in between the ad commercial itself. But matters turned exciting after the match, when the brewing rivalry between Rusev and Real American Jack Swagger grew intense. Rusev’s manager Lana sung Happy Birthday for President Obama which was booed by the fans. Zeb Colter, gave a befitting reply to the Russians as the crowd in one voice cheered, “We, The People”. The moment was spine-chilling.

Caesaro vs Dolph Ziggler was a raw deal as the match ended in mere two minutes. Intercontinental Champion The Miz was at ringside as he faces Ziggler for the title at Summer Slam.

Former Divas Champion Paige wished speedy recovery to her best friend AJ Lee. A segment of Paige attacking AJ Lee on Friday Night Smackdown was shown on the titantron. Summer Slam is just getting hotter with as many exciting matches being booked.

The tag teams match between Goldust and Stardust vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel wasn’t exciting either. The contest missed the zing and the rivalry seemed a dull. The match seemed repetitive between the two and with nothing new to offer, it ended with Rhodes Brothers winning the match.

Chris Jericho beat Erick Rowan on Smackdown, which means that Rowan won’t be at ringside when Bray Wyatt will face Jericho at Summer Slam. If Jericho manages to beat Luke Harper on raw, he won’t be at ringside either. The match was almost won by Chris Jericho, but Bray interfered and Jericho won the match by Disqualification.

The same promo of John Cena and Brock Lesnar is played trying to diminish their presence on the show.

Rob Van Dam (RVD) enters and Seth Rollins too for their Beat the Clock challenge match. The time to beat Rob Van Dam for Seth Rollins is 15:42 set earlier by Ambrose. But before the referee could ring the bell, ring announcer Justin Roberts makes a baffling announcement.

The Authority, in order to make it easy for Rollins, inducted Heath Slater in the match instead of RVD. The happiness on Rollin’s face gave it all. But Rollins happiness stint wasn’t long as Ambrose made an entrance near ringside to distract his one-time ally Rollins. Ambrose distracted Rollins number of times with stealing his Money-in-the-Bank briefcase to tearing his ‘Title Shot’ contract. The fun didn’t end there as Ambrose poured cola, popcorn and JBL’s cowboy hat in the briefcase and locked it. The distraction was enough for Heath Slater to roll Rollins over and win the match in five minutes.

The best was indeed kept at the last. The main event of Raw was the official contract signing between Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon for a match at Summer Slam. The best segment on the show saw verbal salvos fired at each other. A scuffle ensued in the ending moments after both the Divas signed the match contract.  Stephanie hit pedigree on Nikki Bella as her twin sister Brie was blocked by Triple H at the ring corner. After Nikki was down, Brie managed to slap Triple H, to which Stephanie slammed her head on the table and hit pedigree on Brie Bella too.

The show ended with Stephanie smooching Triple H and basking in the ‘YES’ glory!
