In the Clean and Jerk, her best score counted was that of 114 kg. She tried to lift 117 kg in the third attempt but failed to convert it.

Indian Weightlifter Punam Yadav fetched India’s 7 bronze medal with her consistent performance in the Women’s Weightlifting 63 kg category. Lifting a total of 202 kg she got one better of her fellow countrywoman Vandna Gupta who finished fourth at the event with a total lift of 198 kg.

Placed in the group A of the Women’s 63 kg Weightlifting category, it was all the way Nigerian show who ended up winning both the gold and silver medals respectively. Olauwatoyin Adesanmi and Obioma Okoli took the gold and silver medals with the total lift of 207 kg each with Adesanmi winning because of better snatch result of lifting 92 kg.

Punam Yadav started off with a failed attempt to lift 85 kg but managed to lift 88 kg in the Snatch. In the Clean and Jerk, her best score counted was that of 114 kg. She tried to lift 117 kg in the third attempt but failed to convert it.

Vandana Gupta whose score of 198 kg had a superior snatch as she lifted 91 kg but her clean and jerk lift was just of 107 kg. This resulted in her total points being 198 kg and gave her a fourth position.
