Glasgow, Aug 2: India’s Arpinder Singh advanced to the final of the men’s triple jump while javelin throwers Ravinder Singh Khaira and Vipin Kasana also made it to the final of their event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

There was some bad news, though, for the Indian contingent as men’s 4×400-metre and women’s 4×100 relay teams both failed to get through. Javelin thrower Davinder Singh also failed to make the cut.

India’s star squash players Dipika Pallikal and Joshana Chinappa lived up to their names and potential to enter the women’s doubles final at the Commonwealth Games on Friday. The Indian duo defeated Australia’s Kasey Brown and Rachael Grinham 11-9, 7-11, 11-4 in the semis to enter the gold medal contest at the Scotstoun Sports Campus.
