The left-arm spinner gained seven points after being joint-first with Ashwin last week. Jadeja also became the third Indian bowler after Ashwin and Bishan Singh Bedi to top the bowling charts. Moreover, Jadeja with 899 tally points has a chance of becoming the second Indian bowler after Ashwin to touch 900-point mark. Ashwin, who had a highest rating of 904 points, has now slipped to 862 points after finishing with two wickets in Ranchi Test.

Smith after scoring a century in the first innings in Ranchi has now reached a career-hight rating of 941 points. While Pujara gained ground in the Test batsmen list by overtaking Kane Williamson, Virat Kohli and Joe Root. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan has displaced Ashwin from the No.1 position to top the list of allrounders.

The race for the second spot in the ICC Test Team Rankings has become interesting as Australia and South Africa compete ahead of the cut-off date of April 1. But India is assured of finishing first and a cash award of $1 million.
