India’s Sania Miraza and her Zimbabwean partner seem to be clicking as they moved to yet other semi-finals of a WTA event this year. Playing the quarter-finals match at the Sony Open Tennis, the Indo-Zimbabwean pair defeated fourth seeds Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik in comfortable straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

The fifth seeded pair will now face the experienced pair of Swiss player Martina Hingis and German Sabine Lisicki. Martina-Sabine won a thriller against Anabel Medina Garrigues and Yaroslava Shvedova in three sets 3-6, 7-6, 10-7. The former world no. 1 Martina and her 2013 Wimbledon doubles finalist Sabine saved seven match points in their quarter-finals to finally nail down their opponents.

Sania Mirza admitted of the tough task they have in hand against the gutsy pair of Martina Hingis and Sabine Lisicki for the berth in the Sony Open Tennis doubles finals.  But she herself had pulled off a great match in the second round against Hao-Ching Chan and Yung-Jan Chan, when they beat 6-3, 6-7, 10-8 in the opening round at Sony Open.

Sania Mirza and Cara Black was finalist at the last tournament in Indian Wells, when they went down to top seeds Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai.
