South Africa vs New Zealand ICC Women’s World Cup 2017: Match called off due to heavy rains
New Zealand are up against Australia on Sunday while South Africa will play West Indies on the same day.
New Zealand and South Africa were denied the opportunity to build on their opening victories as rain washed out their Women’s World Cup clash without a ball bowled on Wednesday.
Heavy overnight rain left puddles on part of the outfield and the toss was delayed as further showers washed across the ground.

Although the bad weather relented, the umpires inspected the ground and decided that no play would be possible.
That meant that New Zealand captain Suzie Bates, who powered a century in her side’s nine-wicket thrashing of Sri Lanka in Bristol on Saturday, has to wait to play her 100th ODI.

South Africa also enjoyed a winning start to the tournament – edging to a narrow three-wicket triumph over Pakistan in Leicester in their opener, Dane van Niekerk’s team reaching their victory target of 207 after slumping from 113-0 to 177-7.
Shabnim Ismail, batting at No 9, clubbed three fours in the 49th over to seal South Africa’s victory.
