Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Daredevils, IPL 2014: Finch and Warner thrust SRH to 184 against DD

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first on a wicket which looked like batting paradise. Captain Shikhar Dhawan and Aaron Finch securely opened their arms and managed to play big shots early on. The pair put on 56 runs for the opening wicket.
Dhawan who was dropped at point by Manoj Tiwary on 26 could not grab the opportunity and was dismissed only seven runs later on 33, he was caught at short fine leg by Kevin Pietersen off Shahbaz Nadeem’s bowling.

David Warner was the next man in and he joined hands with his Australian counterpart Aaron Finch, the two relentlessly milked Daredevils bowlers. Finch completed his fifth IPL fifty off 37 balls and then shifted gears to up the ante. Tiwary seemed to be having a bad day in office as he once again dropped a sitter, this time at short third man he let go Warner’s catch who was on 31 at that moment. Warner then went on to complete his 11th IPL fifty off 40 balls.

The Australian duo added 128 runs for the second wicket and took SRH to a formidable total of 184-1 in 20 overs. Finch and Warner finished unbeaten on 82 and 58 respectively. Shahbaz Nadeem was the only bowler to take a wicket, he finished with
figures of 1-24.
