New Delhi: Team India skipper Virat Kohli was spotted playing gully cricket left-handed with children on the streets of Sri Lanka. The long island tour for India ends on Wednesday with the visitors taking on Sri Lanka in the one-off T20 international.
Kohli hit his 30th one day international ton on Sunday enabling India complete a 5-0 washout of Sri Lanka in Colombo. After the series clean sweep was completed, left-handed Kohli was spotted playing with kids in the streets of Sri Lanka.
Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named man of the match courtesy his maiden ODI five-wicket haul. Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah also pitched in limiting the hosts to 238 all out.
India’s opening pair Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma fell early to leave India at 29-2 but impressive display from Kohli (110* off 116 balls, and Kedar Jadhav, (63 off 73 balls) led them to victory.
With his 30th century, Kohli is now jointly second with former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting for the most ODI centuries. Legend Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the maximum tons with 49.
India will now welcome Australia on their home turf for a 5-match ODI and 3 T20s series. The first ODI match will be played on 17th September.
