New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor is all set for an eye surgery. The Kiwi player is suffering from Pterygium or surfer’s eye, a growth of the conjunctiva, on his left eye. It was earlier reported that the senior batsman would undergo the surgery after Test series against Pakistan is over.
Taylor despite the problem in his eye went on to score his 16th Test century in second innings of second Test against Pakistan at Hamilton. And now will be operated upon. The senior batsman will miss the upcoming Australia vs. New Zealand One-Day International (ODI) series and other fixtures until his recovery. The estimated recovery period is said to be of four to six weeks. Also Check- On Suresh Raina’s birthday, Virender Sehwag trolls Ross Taylor
Taylor posted an image of his left eye on social networking site, Twitter, ahead of his surgery. The New Zealand cricketer received many replies wishing him a speedy recovery.
Former Indian cricketer, Virender Sehwag, also wished Taylor. But it was in his trademark style. Sehwag tweeted, lines of famous Bollywood song Aankhon mein teri, Ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain. However, Sehwag did not miss out on wishing Taylor a speedy recovery.
“The surgery involves cutting your eye, and cutting the growth, then they’ll take a little bit from under the eyelid and glue it in so the growth doesn’t come back. With any operation there’s always a chance that things don’t go as well as possible. The surgeon I talked to last night was pretty confident that the recovery time is as we had said,” Taylor was quoted as saying by NZ Herald.
Just few days back, Taylor’s daughter sent a blank tweet to Sehwag and Suresh Raina from her dad’s account and the former Indian cricketer trolled Taylor for the same. It is great to see Sehwag not just using Twitter as a platform to entertain his fans.
