World Kabaddi League: Khalsa Warriors and United Singhs set to tussle for inaugural title

Khalsa Warriors will take on United Singhs in the final while the third place battle will be between California Eagles and Vancouver Lions.

World Kabaddi League: Khalsa Warriors and United Singhs set to tussle for inaugural title

Mohali, Nov 21: Khalsa Warriors and United Singhs take on each other in the summit clash here tomorrow to bring down the curtain on the inaugural Wave World Kabaddi League. After four months of league matches and then the semifinals, Khalsa Warriors and United Singhs earned the right to battle it out for the big prize at the International Hockey Stadium.

The final match will be preceded by the third place play-off between the losing semi-finalists, California Eagles and Vancouver Lions. The champions will pocket a prize money of Rs 1.8 crore and runners-up will settle for Rs 90 lakh. The teams which finish third and fourth will get Rs 45 lakh and Rs 21 lakh respectively. The best raider and best stopper will get Rs 1 lakh each.

WKL Commissioner Pargat Singh said, “After witnessing an overwhelming response from the Kabaddi lovers from across the country and 15 weeks of travelling through various venues and cities we have reached the finale of the league. It is a proud moment for us and boosts our confidence to make the next season more exciting and challenging.”

The kabaddi action will be complemented with performances by famous Punjabi singer Hans Raj Hans and star cast of Punjabi movie ‘Happy Go Lucky’- Amrinder Gill and Gurpreet Guggi.
