Wrestler Sakshi Malik wins 3rd silver of Day 7 at the Commonwealth Games 2014

Sakshi Malik defeated Canada's Braxton Rie 8-5 to reach final of Women's Freestyle 58kg.

Another Debutant at the Commonwealth Games, Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik will have to be satisfied with the silver medal. Trying not to be nervous at the big stage but young Indian wrestler was torn apart by Nigeria’s A Adeniyi. Sakshi Malik defeated Canada’s Braxton Rie 8-5 to reach final of Women’s Freestyle 58kg. Sakshi’s defeat comes right after the heavy losses in form of her compatriots Lalita and Bajrang from the other weight categories of wrestling event.
Sakshi started on a wobbly note aginst the Nigeria’s A Adeniyi who finished the match that she won by technical superiority. The Nigerian won second gold medal for the country in wrestling after Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuroye defeated Lalita of India in Women’s Free Style 53 kg.
Earlier wrestler Bajrang who showed brilliant performance against Nigeria’s Amas Daniel to reach final of men’s 61kg category  was taken down by David Tremblay from Canada. In the first period he went down 12-1 and lost the match by technical superiority.
