8 travel hacks to pack smarter for your next holiday

Diwali 2015 vacations are gone but Christmas and New Year is also a hot time for travelers to get busy. Whether you take the train, bus or plane, you always need to pack smartly so that you have everything you need without carrying an extra bag. You get to take fluids without a care in the world on any mode of transport except for air travel but there are hacks to carry liquids on board your next flight as well.

It is best to carry you water bottle empty and fill up with water at a water spout after you are done with security are are ready to board. If you want to take fluids past security then you will need to freeze them into a solid. You don’t need to do this for water but what if you want to take that bottle of expensive wine? When the x-ray scans your bottle, if it sees a solid shape then there are no issues but if you are carrying liquids over 100 ml then be prepared to have them confiscated because delays in security can mean the frozen bottle could have started condensing. For clothes, it is proven that rolling your clothes not only helps them stay wrinkle free but also takes up less space. Use shower caps to cover the soles of your shoes or keep them in a tote bag so that you don’t spoil your clothes. If you have a fancy shirt then you can keep the collar stiff and in shape by keeping your coiled belt in the shirt. If you want to maximise space usage then layout your belt along the shape of the bag. Dryer sheets on top of the clothes will keep your luggage smelling fresh. Here’s a video to explain it all.
