Project V.O.I.C.E.: Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye’s poem ‘When Love Arrives’

Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye are from Project V.O.I.C.E., a movement that celebrates and inspires youth self expression through spoken poetry. Project V.O.I.C.E. stands for vocal creative expression.

This project helps youngsters to engage with oneself and the other via spoken word poetry. This initiative brings about performances, writing and supportive environment to ignite the inspiration in the youth to recognise and express their significant views.

The video shows Sarah and Phil reciting a spoken poem titled When Love Arrives. It is a poem about expectations and contrasting realities of love. This seems like an honest conversation between the two that touches your heart. It is a more exhilarating experience than listening to music. This poem reaches out to you and gives you an all-new experience and you can easily relate to it.

When love arrives, say, “Welcome. Make yourself comfortable”. If love leaves, ask her to leave the door open behind her. Turn off the music, listen to the quiet, and whisper, “Thank you for stopping by”.
