How to search for your friends' TweetsFlocking.me is a handy tool
Twitter is pretty pesky when it comes to search function, the search results render 99% of the stuff that you aren't looking for. However the micro blogging site becomes easier to use thanks to Flocking.me, a useful toot to search your friends' Tweets. Those who used Friendfeed would know that it had a similar feature. But the Twitter version seems more relevant, what with the enormous number of followers on Twitter profiles now. So how does it work? Its pretty simple, really. All you need to do is type in Flocking.me in your browser bar and head over to the site. Then just log onto your Twitter profile in the following page. Flocking automatically integrates your Tweets into its profile and finally offers you a search bar, with a few thumbnails of your friends. Now all you need to do is type in the query in the search bar, and Flocking will give you search results in the twinkling of the eye. For example if you intend to search for whoever mentioned 'Avatar' in your following list, simply type in that word and Flocking gives you a list of the people that had Tweeted the word, with a thumbnail of the text that was typed by them. And don't worry, Flocking displays search results of ONLY the people you follow. And in case you aren't happy with the big thumbnails, you can easily change the view to see a more simplified list. Also, you have the power to filter your search results using your Twitter Lists. Flocking also offers the functionality of displaying Trending Topics restricted to your friends. It also displays real time Tweets and alerts you if there are any new Tweets. What's more, it even syncs up and displays your Twitter design and avatar so you don't feel out of place.
