The Top 20 Most Common Passwords in the WorldIs your's present in this list?
Are you one of the people who keeps the same password for all your accounts? And do you use the easiest password possible? Its not very safe to do that, you know it. The internet world is rife with hackers who can get your password easily. A security firm named Imperva Application Defense Center (ADC) did s bit of research and found that when given the chance, most users will choose a simplistic password. According to the findings by ADC, more than 30 percent of internet users tend to use a password whose length is equal or below six characters. Moreover, not less less than 60 percent of the total net users use their passwords from a limited set of alpha-numeric characters. You absolutely MUST follow a certain set of rules if you're online and have accounts. Choose a strong password so that the chances of your account being broken into are lessened. According to Bruce Schneir, "take a sentence and turn it into a password. Something like 'This little piggy went to market' might become 'tlpWENT2m'. That nine-character password won't be in anyone's dictionary." Also, a password for all sites is useful. And if you have trouble remembering them, follow Bruce Schneier’s advice: "If you can't remember your passwords, write them down and put the paper in your wallet. But just write the sentence – or better yet – a hint that will help you remember your sentence." Also, do not ever trust a third party with your important passwords. ADC claims that 50 percent of the people online use names, slang words, dictionary words or trivial passwords like consecutive digits, adjacent keyboard keys etc. And guess which emerged as the most common password in the world? "123456" of course. Below is the list of the top 20 most popular passwords. 1) "123456" January 24, 2010
