Need For Speed: Undercover Review
Its as bad as Prostreet, folks
Break out your trench coat, baseball cap, and a pair of dark shades because donning a disguise is the only way to save face if you plan on picking up Need for Speed: Undercover.
You'll want to go incognito in order to hide the fact you're buying the worst installment in this long-running racing series. Beyond its brassy sense of style, the game wrecks years of solid racing by introducing derivative and deficient driving mechanics that has the series fitfully spinning its wheels.
Mediocre racing and tacky styling leave it stuck in neutral, gunning its engine while going absolutely nowhere. While a long campaign mode and intriguing new experience system get the pistons pumping, everything grinds to a halt when the rubber hits the road in the worst installment of the series in recent memory.
It's the video game equivalent of test driving a brand new Lamborghini only to have the engine overheat and the tires go flat as soon as you get on the freeway. Too bad the gaming equivalent of AAA doesn't exist; that way, if you're unlucky enough to buy this game, you could get a little roadside assistance.

this is the worst NFS game i ever played.
nfs prostreet is good
only if you know to drive prostreet is very excellent it improves your driving skills and takes you to whole new level of racing you say it bad because you find the races hard to play
the graphics are very ossom
the graphics are very ossom and i dont know what is the picture about but i will soon get it
Come on! That's ridiculous !
As bad as ProStreet ? Seriously ? ProStreet was one of the finest racing games ever made. The intricacy of the car handling - pin perfect. It is based in the real world. Every bump on the road is capable of the sending the car sideways and getting damaged - that is what Pro Street delivered. In the Official Xbox Magazine, they gave it a high 9 / 10 .
As for Undercover, I have been playing the Xbox 360 version on my 1 month old 360 Elite and it has been one of my Top 5 most favourite games - alongside GTA IV, Far Cry 2, Mirror's Edge and CoD: World at War.
It has some puny issues - frame rate issue. On the Xbox 360, the frame rate is solid. It does slow down, but never hampers the gameplay. The graphics are mind blowing - the lighting, the shadows, the reflections, the modelling of the car. Fantastic.
Unfortunately, many came to expect "Most Wanted". It had it - cops, races, no huge penalty for damages as well as a story with Hollywood style cut-scenes. It was great, but not perfect.
There ya go. NFS Undercover is not perfect, but is darn good. Too bad "majority" of gamers are looking at it as if this was the 'it' version they have been waiting for 10 years.
Oh please. I'd rate this game a 8.5 / 10.
you must be a big fan but
you must be a big fan but that doesn't mean everyone should like the game ... Prostreet was a piece of cr@p game that should never have been made ... the xbox mag mustve given it a good rating but check the other mags and sites ... it was a disaster
Undercover did NOT have mindblowing grafix and lighting reflections .. DIRT and GRID did .. and the game was too easy ...and boring
and u put FC2 in your top 5 list when there should be Deadspace ... FC2 sucked a lot too
