New Delhi, Apr 10: Google on Tuesday launched its two smart speakers – Google Home and Google Home Mini – in India. The Google Assistant-powered speakers will be exclusively available on Flipkart online. Google Home is priced at Rs 9,999 in India, while Home Mini costs Rs 4,999. The smart speakers can be activated by saying ‘Ok Google’.
Google Home: Search engine giant Google launched its Google Home at the company’s I/O 2016 conference. Google Home can be used to play music, cast videos, control smart home and get news updates. The smart speaker can also be used to control Netflix. Google Home buyers can ask the device things like how long will it take to reach a place, horoscope and weather updates.
Google Home comes with six months of ad-free music experience by Saavn and Gaana applications. It also works with Youtube and Android TVs. It also comes with six months free access to Google Play music. It also allows users to interact with the device by setting it up via voice recognition technology.
Google Home Mini: This device has similar features to Google Home when it comes to playing music and videos. Google Home Mini, similar to the Amazon Echo Dot, is meant to be used in more rooms. With four lights on top, the speaker is only available with fabric-based designs. It sports a non-skid silicone base and is touted to deliver 360-degree sound. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and higher, and iOS 9.1 and higher.
