Lenovo launched their Lenovo K6 Power smartphone in India and the device is for those who love juiced up devices. The budget smartphone, Lenovo 6 Power comes with a mammoth battery which Lenovo claims will last the user for ultra long duration. The device is one among the many budget smartphones that come with great power and promise good battery life. Although we have completed nearly a decade of using smartphones, the one thing that the devices still lack is a good battery. While buying phones, we often check the processor, the camera, the RAM and other features but we neglect one of the most important aspects – the battery, without which all of these features will be completely worthless. There are smartphones launched that come with their entire focus on battery power but then these devices are few and far between. However, in recent times, we have seen more devices coming up with good batteries.

Portable chargers and charging points at multiple places are a common sight. Almost everyone now carries a portable charger in their bags and wallets. If you have a a more powerful device, at times, you might have to invest in multiple power banks to ensure your smartphone doesn’t turn into a piece of brick through the middle of the day. While older feature phones lasted multiple days without needing a single charge thanks to their simple features and non-power guzzling forms, the modern devices, which are made up 90 percent of the display take up a lot of battery in just keeping the device running and the screen on. The max we can go with these devices without a charge is 2 days, only if the battery is fully juiced up and comes with a considerable capacity.

With the Lenovo K6 Power, the smartphone comes with a 4000 mAh battery and another plus about the device is the price as it is priced in the sub-10k segment in India. Lenovo K6 Power comes priced at Rs 9999 in India. In terms of comparison, there are few other devices in the price range that match up with similar specifications. The smartphone is also a 4G compliant device. The closest competitor in the same price range is the Redmi Note 3. While there are devices with the same power in even lower budget, we are comparing the two devices at the same price point here and the basis is only the price point and the battery, let’s compare the other specifications and see which device fares better on paper. In terms of display, it is Redmi Note 3 that takes the cake as it is larger and comes with the same HD display. However, while Redmi Note 3 comes boxed with an older Android version, Lenovo K6 Power comes with Android Marshmallow, that is relatively newer. Also, with the internal memory and the selfie camera, Lenovo K6 Power is a better device on paper. If seen on paper, Lenovo K6 Power wins the match but then, it all in real life depends on performance. Although the specifications are better, the battery of the device is marginally lower meaning Redmi Note 3 might outlast the Lenovo K6 Power. Well, let’s wait and watch how the device fares once it is up on shelves!
