Motorola Moto M which launched in international markets earlier is all set to come to India. According to latest teasrwer reports by Motorola, the smartphone will come with the same metal body. Motorola is teasing the launch of the new device across social media platforms and earlier today, shared the image of a Moto M smartphone along with the metal body in a tweet. The tweet was also accompanied by the text, “Something different is coming your way. Stay tuned to know more. #ComingSoon” However, in the tweet, the image is not very clearly visible. It is extremely grainy and bright and looks like pale sand scattered over the device. However, at the bottom right corner of the image, the outline of Motorola Moto M can be clearly seen and also the camera of the device is visible. As there have been no international launches other than Moto M, the smartphone in question can safely be assumed to be the Motorola Moto M.
While Motorola has teased the image and the upcoming launch on twitter, no other details are provided. The smartphone could launch tomorrow or next week, nothing has been said. However, it will not be too far off as the wait has already been long enough. Motorola Moto M has so far been a China-exclusive device but now, looks like Motorola is expanding the device to other markets too. Clearly, the highlight of Motorola Moto M is the metal body of the device and it has some other impressive features too. Motorola Moto M comes with quite some good specifications and as it is a nearly budget device (being slightly less than 20k, it’s between budget and mid range smartphones) the phone will see a lot of competition from the Chinese smartphones which are currently littering the Indian markets. The Motorol Moto M smartphone will be targeted at the year end buyers as with Christmas around the corner, the festive season is once again here.
Coming to the features and specifications of Motorola Moto M, the smartphone comes with an all metal body as said above. Apaprt from that, Motorola Moto M 5.5-inches IPS LCD full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 401 ppi. The smartphone runs Android Marshmallow. While these are the specifications in China, the Indian specifications are not expected to be too different and the smartphone will come with similar specs. Under the hood of Motorola Moto M runs a Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 processor clocked at 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 cores. There’s just one internal memory variant you get and that is the 32 GB version with 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16 MP rear end camera and 8 MP front camera. The battery is 3050 mAh non-removable battery. The smartphone is priced 1999 CNY in China and the Indian pricing is expected to be slightly lower than Rs 20,000 which is at par with the Chinese pricing. Lenovo launches Moto Z and Moto Z Play in India – First official modular phones in the country
Motorola is now owned by Lenovo and Motorola’s strong standing in the Indian market coupled with the brand loyalty has helped propel Lenovo to No. 2 position in India. The smartphone manufacturer recently announced that from now on, they would be only launching newer models under Motorola and the Lenovo name will not be added before smartphones. However, Lenovo also has other sub-brands like the Lenovo ZUK under which Lenovo recently launched a smartphone in the country. Whether the ZUK branding will also be changed to Motorola or will it stay as Lenovo ZUK is still unclear. However, for now, for Motorola which has had a rough run, looks like things are finally setlling down with their new popularity and also the back to back launches the brand has witnessed in recent times.
