IPL 2014, RCB vs KKR: Top 5 Players to watch out for in Match 11

Virat-Kohli--sunil-narine-Gautam-Gambhir-Yuvraj-Singh

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders are the star studded sides with the backing of celebrity franchise owners in form of Vijay Mallaya and Shahrukh Khan respectively. RCB and KKR kick started the opening edition of Indian Premier League in 2008. There was hurricane performance by Brendon McCullum back in 2008 and one would be hoping the two sides produce some such blistering performances.

Royal Challengers and Kolkata Knight Riders have won the matches equal number of times in their previous 12 meetings. We take a look at the top 5 players that can make the difference in the match number 11:

Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

RCB  captain Virat Kohli is the not only an aggressive captain but also an explosive batsman. The RCB line-up that boasts of names like AB DeVilliers, Yuvraj Singh, Albie Morkel, Parthiv Patel can send shivers down the spine of any opposition. On top of it, is the presence of Virat Kohli who has emerged as the next Mr. Dependable and moulds himself according to the situation.

Gautam Gambhir (Kolkata Knight Riders)

2012 IPL winning KKR captain Gautam Gambhir is yet to open his account in this IPL 2014 with successive ducks against Mumbai Indians in the opening match and followed it up with another against Delhi Daredevils. But ruling the overlooked Indian Opener is like inviting trouble for oneself. He is capable of plummeting any bowling attack, and it will be seen if he does this in match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Sunil Narine (Kolkata Knight Riders)

The words are usually less to describe the credibility of KKR’s mystery spinner Sunil Narine. His four overs are not to be scored but only be played and come out safely with your wicket. The West Indian has been wrecker-in-chief for KKR side. Gautam Gambhir would expect him to play the crucial role once again.

Yuvraj Singh (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli put his faith on getting Yuvraj Singh in the side and looks like his faith is paying off. Yuvraj Singh has kept aside the dismal IPL World T20 tournament aside to come heavily against Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians. So is it going to be yet another Yuvi show in today’s match?

Dark Horse: Chris Gayle (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

The spectators are missing the ‘Gayle factor’ for the past two matches.  The ‘Big Guy’ from Royal Challengers Bangalore has been missing in the action due to sore back.  Every Gayle fan irrespective of the sides would expect him to return on the field and if it happens in match against Kolkata Knight Riders, they will not be feeling very lucky tonight.
