Datsun India launches GO and GO+ with driver side airbags

Nissan owned subsidiary brand Datsun India has recently added driver side airbags to the GO hatchback and its compact family wagon GO+. The airbags will be only available for the range-topping variants T (O) of both the cars. Nissan has launched the Datsun GO T(O) at INR 4.19 lakh, whereas the seven-seater Datsun GO+ T(O) has been launched at INR 4.81 lakh (Both ex-showroom Delhi).

Nissan owned Datsun has announced its plans to launch a third entry level car in the country next year. This is yet another attempt by the Japanese auto major Nissan, who is seeking a bigger play in India's small car market, which is presently dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. The company, which sold a total of about 17,000 units of Datsun vehicles in the country in the first year since the brand made a comeback last year, is also looking at having around 60 exclusive showrooms of the brand, mostly in smaller towns by 2016.

Japanese car major Nissan yesterday launched its second offering from the Datsun family with an under-4 metre compact family wagon Datsun Go + in a price range of INR 3.79 lakh to INR 4.61 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. The company had launched the first edition of the century-old model Datsun Go ten months ago and has so far sold only 12,000 units, which is much below its target.

Japanese car maker Nissan today announced the start of pre-bookings of its soon-to-be-launched compact multipurpose vehicle 'Datsun GO+' in India. The Datsun GO+, which was first previewed at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, will be available for pre-booking between January 3-14, Nissan India said in a statement. "Prospective customers can now pre-book their Datsun GO+ with a fully refundable amount of Rs 11,000 at any Nissan dealership across India," it added.

Datsun GO India: Global NCAP asks Nissan to withdraw Datsun GO from India

In a setback to Nissan Motors, consumer safety testing body Global NCAP has asked the Japanese car maker to withdraw its compact car Datsun GO from the Indian market saying it was "sub-standard". Datsun GO, which was launched in the country last year, had failed crash test results recently conducted by the Global New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP). It had failed on critical safety count.
