Emraan Hashmi is an Indian actor and has a successful career in Bollywood. He is one of the most popular and highest paid actors of Bollywood. Emraan made his debut in 2003 after playing the lead role in the movie Footpath and so far he has received three Filmfare nominations. Hashmi is a member of the Bhatt family and he is known for his romantic roles as well as the sons of his movies are very popular among the youth. Born on 24th March 1979, Emraan belongs to a family who has his connections in Bollywood. Emraan was born to Anwar Hashmi and Maherrah Hashmi. His father is also an actor and he has acted in Baharon ki Manzil that was released in 1968. Anwar Hashmi is the son of actress Meherbano Mohammad Ali. Mahesh Bhatt also has his family connections with Emraan Hashmi and he is Emraans uncle. Hashmi is the cousin of director Mohit Suri, actress Pooja Bhatt and Alia Bhatt and brother of actor Rahul Bhatt. Emraan completed his drawing and animation studies from Sydenham College in Mumbai and then worked as an assistant director before pursuing a career in acting. Emraan worked as an assistant director in the movie Raaz which was released in the year 2002. He made his debut in 2003 in Vikram Bhatts thriller movie titled Footpath with co-actors Aftab Shivdasani and Bipasha Basu. He played the role of Raghu Shrivastav who is a gangster in the movie. Emraans acting was praised by the critics but the movie received moderate success. The following year, he worked in Anurag Basus thriller movie titled Murder and he received critical acclamations. His role was very much loved by everyone and the movie also became a commercially successful film. After this Emraan got featured in many movies like Tumsa Nahi Dekha, Zeher, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Chocolate, Aksar, Killer and Dil Diya Hai. Emraans role in all the films was appreciated but the movies werent successful at the box office. However, due to his romantic roles on the screen, he got the title of Serial Kisser from his fans.Emraan Hashmi started to receive commercial success after 2008. His role of a match fixer in Kunal Deshmukhs Jannat a love story became very popular and the people as well as critics praised him for his acting. Jannat earned Rs 420 million in India and was a hit movie. This movie also was the turning point in Emraans career. He then got featured in Raaz The Mystery Continues alongside Kangana Ranaut and the movie was successful at the Box Office. The next hit movie in Emraans career was Once Upon A Time In Mumbai which also featured actors like Ajay Devgan, Randeep Hooda, Prachi Desai and Kangana Ranaut. Emraan played the character of Shoaib and it was inspired by real life gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The movie was a huge hit and Emraans role was also praised. His performance in the movie helped him in getting a nomination in the Best Supporting Actor at the 56th Filmfare Awards. His next hit movie was The Dirty Picture released in 2011. The movie also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Vidya Balan and Tushar Kapoor. The film was very successful at the box office. The latest release of Emraan Hashmi was Azhar and it was based on the life of Mohammad Azharuddin. The movie received mixed reactions from the critics. Emraan married to Parveen Shahani in December 2006 and the couple has a son named Ayaan Hashmi. Emraan was in controversy in July 2009 in which he alleged a building in Pali Hill that they rejected him to buy a flat in the building just because he is a Muslim. In 2014, Emraans four year old son Ayaan was diagnosed with first stage cancer. Emraan then started to concentrate more on his family. In 2016, he launched his auto biography book called Kiss Of Life. The book describes how his son fought and defeated cancer and won the battle.
