Ramesh Powar, born May 20, 1978, was Mumbai’s Dial 911 for a decade and a half. Powar was an anachronism in an era where spinners did bowling flat. Like the great spinners of yesteryear, Powar was unafraid to toss the ball and lure the batsmen to make mistakes.
