Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra is an Indian actress and singer who works predominantly in the Hindi film industry. She made her Bollywood debut in 2011 in movie Ladies vs Ricky Bahl which starred actors Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. Parineeti won a number of awards for her role including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

It seems acting was not on her mind as she had initially aspired to pursue a career in investment banking after obtaining a triple honours degree in business, finance, and economics from Manchester Business School. Upon her return to India, which was during the 2009 economic recession, she joined Yash Raj Films as a public relations consultant.

2012 TO 2020:

After her 2011 debut, Parineeti went on to star in a number of movies like, Ishaqzaade (2012), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Daawat-e-Ishq (2014), Kill Dil (2014), Dishoom (Cameo-2016), Meri Pyaari Bindu (2017 - also playback singer for song Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin), Golmaal Again (2017), Namaste England (2018), Kesari (2019), and Jabariya Jodi (2019).

Parineeti has three movies that she has starred in that have not been released. One is Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, in which she stars alongside Arjun Kapoor, the second, Bhuj: The Pride of India, which will be released in 2020, and the third, The Girl on the Train, which will be released in 2020. She will also be playing Sania Nehwal in a biopic on the ace shuttler.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Parineeti Chopra was born on October 22, 1988 in Ambala, Haryana to Pawan Chopra and Reena Chopra and she has two brothers. She did her schooling from the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Ambala and went to Manchester, England to study at the Manchester Business School. Her well-known relative is her cousin Priyanka Chopra.

AWARDS:

In 2012, Parineeti won a FICCI Frames Excellence Honour, Filmfare Award, International Indian Film Academy Award, People's Choice Award India, Producers Guild Film Award, Screen Award, Stardust Award, Zee Cine Award, Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award, and Big Star Young Entertainer Award for her role in movie Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. The same year she earned a Special Mention at the National Film Awards for Ishaqzaade.

In 2013, the Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow – Female for movie Ishaqzaade, and in 2014, the BIG Star Entertainment Award for Most Entertaining Actor in a Comedy Film - Female for her role in Hasee Toh Phasee.
