Rakaposhi Trek vs Kheerganga Trek
Also called the Minapin trek, the Rakaposhi base camp trek is a short one and one of the best trekking trails in the scenic Nagar Valley. It starts from Minapin, which is where it gets its name, and offers incredible views of the imposing Rakaposhi and Diran peaks of the Haramon mountains. You also get to see the glaciers adjoining the peaks from Tagafari. The base camp at a height of around 4,900 meters is a summer pasture for the nearby villagers. The Kheerganga trek, meanwhile, is a similarly simple and short trail in Parvati Valley, but is around half the altitude of Rakaposhi, at 2,900 meters. Still, at the top you get to enjoy the view of the valley and chill at the hot water springs.

Their homes stretch across the isolated and scenic valleys of Birir, Rumbur and Bumboret, offering plenty of views to the traveler. And since the elevation here is just a little over 1,000 meters, the trek here is pretty accessible to everyone. Meanwhile, the Markha Valley trek is one of the most famous ones in Ladakh, taking you across the Stok La, Kongmaru La and Gandla passes along the banks of the Markha River. It offers a glimpse into Tibetan culture not seen in the usual tourist circuits of Ladakh, with the camp near the base of Kang-Yutze being the highlight.
Batura Glacier vs Pindari Glacier trek
We wind up this list with a comparison of the glacier treks of India and Pakistan. In the regions of Nagar and Hunza in Pakistan, the 60 km Batura glacier is one of the best treks you can choose in the country. The trek is pretty easy, taking you across valleys with thousands of flowers and, of course, the glacier itself. You also get to see the Karon Koh, Passu Peak and Ultar peaks along the way. In India, the Pindari glacier trek in Uttarakhand is considered the best in the state. The trek is easy enough for families to attempt with their children, although the trail does get more difficult along the way, with mountain ridges, streams and spider walls to be crossed, and dense rhododendron forests too.
