Every winter, Rajasthan hosts a number of festivals that showcase the best of food, art and culture in the state and, in some cases, the rest of the world. And while the winter is beginning to recede now, the capital city of Jaipur will still be hosting the second edition of an international food festival: the Gourmet Getaway. After a successful debut in March 2017, Gourmet Getaway is once again returning to Jaipur to showcase the talent of food creators from around the world and their love for gastronomy. The Gourmet Getaway will begin later in this week, according to ANI, and is once again focused on promoting the specialties and ideas of small entrepreneurs. The festival is the brainchild of Dushyant Singh, owner of the Cafe on the House, who said that it was the outcome of its ‘love for food’. He said that he wants the festival to give visitors a plethora of experiences and the satisfaction of spending time with innovative food creators.

The first Gourmet Getaway food festival was quite an event, with some wildly innovative concepts on display, like parmesan cheese rolls and baked macaroons. Speaking at a pre-event brunch held sometime in mid-2017, Singh said that the event will be the first of its kind, with international chefs being invited. He added that traditional quality and authenticity will be the focus at the festival. NOW READ: Jodhpur and Jaisalmer in 4 Days: Itinerary for a Whirlwind Adventure

The event will likely include a gala event at the Nand Mahal and some more events with specific themes at different times and venues, so you can head to these locations separately depending on your own tastes. The event will have an open market concept, with the aim of promoting smaller and more artisanal members of the culinary scene.
