The famed Gurugram-based production house Navrasa Duende has been creating, managing and promoting incredible productions of modern and traditional works of art, dance and theater for years. It has hosted classical movie festivals and events with Pandit Jasraj, and even brought the iconic Swan Lake ballet to the country. And its pièce de résistance is the annual Global Carnival, scheduled to happen on February 23-28, 2018 in New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Navrasa Duende Global Carnival will feature a series of pavilions dedicated to various forms of art and entertainment. It aims at promoting international and Indian arts and offering three days of stunning live performances. There will be art, dance and theater from all around the world. Expect performances in western, Indian and world classical dance and folk, jazz, pop, electronic and rock music. There will be theater and dance concerts and painting, sculpture and photography exhibits. There will be wellness sessions, fashion shows and literary events. And there will be feature film screenings and interior production exhibitions and more.
The Global Carnival 2018 will see artists and groups like Anish Sood, Afishal and ALPHA 9, who will perform at an EDM night. The famed Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra will also be performing with a 75-piece orchestra, as well as the Western Classical Symphony. Meanwhile, the One Mega Indian Classical Concert will have artists like Shujaat Khan, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Pandit Jasraj performing. The carnival will also feature a ‘Night at Opera’ show by the London Festival Opera, and theatrical fusion performance of salsa, bolero, rumba, cha-cha-cha, flamenco and ballet by Lizt Alfanso Dance Cuba. Another big event at the carnival will be a movie panel featuring Indian cinema veterans. Navrasa Duende founder and CEO Dinesh Singh said about the event, “The Global Carnival is a first-of-its-kind experience in India, wherein artists and performers from the country, and around the world, will come together to create a Broadway Street-like atmosphere and showcase both popular, and indigenous forms of art simultaneously.”
