Gujarat has been in the news for a while on account of its elections. Several areas of Gujarat went in for polling in the first phase on December 9. As we wait for the drama to unfold when the results come out, let’s take a moment to acknowledge the immense, underrated beauty of this wonderful Indian state. Gujarat is home to some of the most intriguing temples, mosques and monuments. Not to mention, the vast and breathtaking salt marshland – Great Rann of Kutch – which attracts visitors from all over the globe, especially during winter when it hosts the Rann Utsav. And then there is the Gir Forest National Park which is home to the Asiatic lion. Gujarat has enough to keep you interested and give you a pleasant break from your daily routine. And if you like history, there is the Sabarmati and Porbandar associated with India’s most famous personality ever – Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
