What you do imagine when you think of Hong Kong? It is probably the towering buildings with their shiny glass facades reflecting the sky and the other skyscrapers around it. It is probably the graffiti-filled walls and the green parks that dot the city. It is probably the gleaming roads and street food stalls and markets. But Hong Kong has so much more to offer than that. A whopping 40 percent of the region is actually protected nature reserves and country parks, offering breathtaking natural landscapes away from the bustle of the city. These photos show off a side to Hong Kong that many of you may not be aware of. With a number of nature trails and diverse landscapes, there is so much more to do in Hong Kong beyond the city. The hiking trails take you over towering peaks and Hong Kong’s beautiful Pacific coastline. So the next time you head to Hong Kong, take the road less travelled and head to the hiking and cycling trails just a few hours away from the main city.
