After successful Bollywood cross-overs to Hollywood like Om Puri, Priyanka Chopra, and Anil Kapoor, we now see a new Bollywood diva headed in the same direction—Sonam Kapoor. It seems that Kapoor—like Deepika Padukone—is taking that leap across the ocean to expand her career. The fashion icon recently posted on social media about the new partnership with America’s top agency, United Talent Agency.
Kapoor will now join the ranks of international stars like Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Guns N’ Roses, Benedict Cumberbatch, Susan Sarandon, Harrison Ford, Owen Wilson, Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow, Channing Tatum, Anthony Hopkins, Mark Ruffalo and Daniel Radcliffe at UTA.
Kapoor hails from a popular filmy family with father Anil Kapoor conquering, not just Bollywood, but Hollywood as well—and let’s not forget the rest of her family of actors and filmmakers including Sanjay Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Sridevi and Arjun Kapor. Kapoor’s younger brother, Harshvardhan, will be making his debut in Bollywood soon as well. The actress’ Bollywood film career has been inconsistent but in recent times she has proved her acting abilities with films like “Raanjhaana” and the biopic “Neerja.”
The fashionista has taken to Twitter to explain that she will not be debuting in Hollywood anytime soon and hasn’t been offered any films as of yet.
Not too long ago the actress had her first taste of Hollywood when Coldplay headed to India for the music video of their hit song “Hymn for the Weekend” featuring Beyonce. Kapoor had a short cameo in the music video—looking gorgeous as usual. We can’t wait to see how Kapoor will take over the Hollywood industry.
