Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta And Palembang Day 10: Dutee Chand makes it to the finals in women’s 200 m semifinals, where the Bahrani girl finished second. She clocked 23 sec to emerge first in another photo-finish. Earlier, in her 100 m race she came second in yet another photo-finish. It seems like she is making it a habit of acing photo finishes. Earlier, Dutee Chand displayed a tremendous performance to win the silver medal in the 100 m race event clocking at a splendid 11.32 seconds at the 18th edition of the Asian games in Jakarta on Sunday. Thanks to her brilliant run, Odisha government also announced a Rs 1.5 cr cash reward for the athlete.

Earlier, Hima Das, who was featured in the other 200 m heat semi-finals, got disqualified due to a false start. It is a big set back for the Dhing-girl who was expected to make the finals.

Earlier in the day, it was PV Sindhu settled for the silver medal after she lost to World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying in straight games. Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu created history by winning medals in the ongoing 18th Asian Games 2018. Saina won bronze, whereas Sindhu bagged silver. The sport of badminton was introduced in the Asian Games in 1962 and this is the first time India has won a medal at the event.
