Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta And Palembang Day 10: Indian men archery team comprising Abhishek Verma, Rajat Chauhan and Aman Saini bagged silver in the compound men’s archery finals defeating Korea 229-227 after their women counterparts settled for silver. This takes India’s medal tally to 43. This could have been India’s ninth gold medal in the ongoing Asian Games 2018, co-hosted by Jakarta and Palembang.

After everyone thought India won the men’s compound team gold vs South Korea, the scores were rechecked, levelled at 229-229 and it went to shoot off! Then it was 29-29. And Korea won on the basis of more 10s.

After 18 shots, it was 172-178 in favour of India.

Earlier, the India women’s archery team comprising of Madhumita, Jyoti Surekha and Muskan settle for silver after Korea defeated them 231-228. With this medal, the Indian archers have ended the dry spell in archery events at the ongoing 18th Asian Games in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the big event of the day from an Indian point of view would be the women’s badminton finals where PV Sindhu will lock horns with World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying. Earlier, Saina Nehwal lost to Tai Tzu Ying and had to settle for bronze. Nehwal scripted history by becoming the first Indian women to win an individual medal in badminton in Asian Games.
