Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta And Palembang Day 10: The India women’s archery team comprising of Madhumita, Jyoti Surekha and Muskan settle for silver after Korea defeated them 231-228. With this medal, the Indian archers have ended the dry spell in archery events at the ongoing 18th Asian Games in Jakarta.
Earlier, after 12 shots, scores were level at 115 each. The Indian archers were at their best hitting the bullseye consistently. It was neck and neck even after 18 shots at 173, just shows how close it boiled down to.
South Korea took the match away in the final set. India led South Korea after the first set but after the second and third sets, they remained tied. The pressure of the final set got to Muskan Kirar and Madhumita Kumari and they shot 8s and 9s.
However, the golden-lining of the Indian performance was Jyothi Surekha Vennam, who only shot 10s in the final.

After disappointing performances by ace archers Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das, this was a silver lining the Indian archers would have been hoping for dearly.

Earlier, Saina Nehwal lost to Tai Tzu Ying and had to settle for bronze. Nehwal scripted history by becoming the first Indian women to win an individual medal in badminton in Asian Games.
