The four Indian participants were Mohammed Puthanpurakkal, Dharun Ayyasamy, Muhammad Anas and Rajiv Arokia.

Jinson Johnson won the gold at men’s 1500m race finals, recording a time of 3:44:72 minutes.  Johnson’s medal marks India’s 12th gold of the Asian Games 2018 campaign. His compatriot, Manjit Singh finished fourth in the same event.

Earlier, India’s P.U Chitra won Bronze Medal in Women’s 1500m and  Seema Punia wins the Bronze medal in Discus Throw with the best attempt of 62.26m.

India’s medal tally rose to 57 medals, comprising- 12 Golds, 20 Silvers and 25 Bronze.

India’s Achanta Sharath Kamal has won the fourth game 11-5 against Pakistan’s Muhammad Asim Qureshi and won the tie 4-0 to progress to the Round of 16.
Round of 32 is underway where Mouma Das is taking on Szuyu Chen from Chinese Taipei. Sharath Kamal will be in action soon against Pakistan’s Muhammad Asim Qureshi. After a memorable day 11, where Swapna Barman and Arpinder Singh won gold in the heptathlon and triple jump respectively, eyes will be on Manjit Singh and Jinson Johnson when they take the tracks for the 1500 m race on Day 12. Also, the men’s hockey team will look to seal a finals berth in hockey when they lock horns with Malaysia. Earlier, the women sealed their finals berth. Day 12 will also see the men and the women’s 4×400 m relay, that again is an event where Indians would be hopeful of medals.

Squash is another event where Indians would be hopeful they can add to the tally. Meanwhile, India currently stands at the ninth spot in Asian Games medals tally with –  11 Gold, 20 Silver and 23 Bronze taking their total tally to 54.

In all likelihood, the Indian contingent will be looking to eclipse its total medal tally from Incheon four years ago, with a number of medals on offer on the twelfth day.
