Mercedes-Benz India launched one of the most spectacular sports cars in the country – the AMG GT S at INR 2.40 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi). This new Mercedes AMG GT S is basically the successor of the much loved SLS AMG sans the iconic Gull-Wing doors. The AMG GT S will be retailed in the country exclusively via Mercedes’ AMG Performance Centres across India.

Exterior

In terms of design and looks, the car flaunts the shapes and curves which is the biggest design highlight. The car also bags a long curvy bonnet that features pronounced power domes along with body accenting line all across the car and broader rear end. Talking about the exterior appearance, it gets a pair of stylish LED high-performance projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, single louvre radiator grille and large air intakes along with old school 19-inch alloys at the front and 20-inch ones for the rear. The rear profile gets an electrically extending aerofoil, switchable AMG Performance exhaust system along with two chrome-plated twin tailpipes.

Interiors

On the inside, Mercedes GT S comes with AMG DNA which is smartly designed with dual tone dashboard that features 4 striking air vents along with chrome bezels and cooled glove box. The sporty and premium upholstery match the interior trims provides it with a feel-good vibe. Moreover, it is also equipped with free-standing central display and the AMG Drive Unit organizes along with latest touchpad system. The car is also equipped with The Mercedes-AMG DRIVE UNIT that comes with three pre-set and one individually adjustable transmission mode which can be selected via the Mercedes-AMG DYNAMIC SELECT Controller C, S, S+ and I. In terms of safety, the AMG GT is equipped with PRE-SAFE, Highly adaptive headlamps, traffic sign assist, blind spot assist, PARKTRONIC, and reverse parking assist camera.

Engine specifications and Performance

Under the hood, the new Mercedes-AMG GT S is equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that is capable of generating 510PS of power at 6250rpm and 650Nm of peak torque between 1750 rpm to 4750rpm. Moreover, transmission duties of the supercar are carried by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Mercedes AMG GT S can easily touchdown 100kmph in mere 3.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 310 kmph.
