Mahalakshmi murder case: Prime suspect Mukhtirajan Pratap Ray dies by suicide, says Bengaluru top cop 

The police said that Mahalaskhmi and Ray were working in a mall and were known to each other since 2023. The cops further added that Ray had called his brother and committed offence to his younger brother who had suggested him to leave the state. Ray had called him from West Bengal which was his last location.

The Bengaluru police has confirmed that prime suspect in Bengaluru woman’s murder case, whose body was chopped into pieces and stored inside a fridge, died by suicide in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. 

The Odisha police said that Mukhthirajan Ray was found hanging from a roadside tree near Bhuinpur. The police have also confirmed that a suicide not was recovered from him in which he had committed to the Bengaluru crime. 

A senior cop told The Indian Express that the police have registered an FIR of unnatural death but the Bengaluru police have confirmed that Ray was the accused in the murder case.

A postmortem was conducted and later the body was handed over to the family for last rites.

The police said that Mahalaskhmi and Ray were working in a mall and were known to each other since 2023. Earlier, Mahalakshmi’s estranged husband had claimed that his wife had an illicit relationship and he filed an FIR against the person.  

Mahalakshmi’s body was found inside a refrigerator at her residence in Vinayak Nagar.
