Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 Results

On February 22, 2015, Nitish Kumar again took over the post of Chief Minister and he is still holding this post. After 2015, in 2020 also he became the Chief Minister by winning under the banner of NDA.

Jitan Ram Manjhi took over the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister on May 20, 2014. He remained the Chief Minister of Bihar for 278 days and resigned on February 22, 2015.

Nitish Kumar took over the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister on 24 November 2005. After winning the second term in 2010, he remained in this post till 20 May 2014. In this way, he remained in the post for 8 years and 177 days.

On March 11, 2000, Rabri Devi was again made the Chief Minister of Bihar. After remaining in office for 4 years and 360 days, she left the post on March 6, 2005.

Nitish Kumar took over as the Chief Minister on March 3, 2000. He could remain in the post only for 7 days, i.e. till March 10, 2000.

Once again Rabri Devi was made the Chief Minister on March 9, 1999 and she remained in this position for 359 days till March 2, 2000.

On July 25, 1997, after Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi was made the Chief Minister. She remained in this position for one year and 201 days till February 11, 1999.  

On April 4, 1995, Lalu Prasad Yadav was again elected as the Chief Minister of Bihar. After remaining in office for 2 years and 112 days, he resigned from the post on July 25, 1997.

After Jagannath Mishra, Lalu Prasad Yadav was made the Chief Minister of Bihar on March 10, 1990. He remained in office for the full term till March 28, 1995

On 6 December 1989, Jagannath Mishra was made the Chief Minister of Bihar for the third time. This time he remained in office for only 94 days. On 10 March 1990, he was removed from the post.

On March 11, 1989, Satyendra Narayan Sinha was made the Chief Minister of Bihar. After remaining in office for 270 days, Sinha left the post on December 6, 1989.

On February 13, 1988, Bhagwat Jha Azad was made the Chief Minister of Bihar. After being the Chief Minister for one year and 25 days, he stepped down from the post on March 10, 1989.

Bindeshwari Dubey was made the Chief Minister on March 12, 1985. He remained in this position till February 13, 1988. In total, he held the position for 2 years and 338 days.

After Jagannath Mishra, Chandrashekhar Singh was made the new Chief Minister of the state on August 14, 1983. He left the post on March 12, 1985. In this way, he remained the Chief Minister for one year and 210 days.

On June 8, 1980, Jagannath Mishra was made the Chief Minister of Bihar for the second time. Jagannath Mishra held the post of Chief Minister of Bihar till August 14, 1983, i.e. for 3 years and 67 days.

Ram Sunder Das was sworn in as Chief Minister on April 21, 1979. He remained in office till February 17, 1980, i.e. for 302 days.

On June 24, 1977, Karpuri Thakur was given the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister for the second time. He remained in office till April 21, 1979, i.e. for one year and 301 days.

After Abdul Gafur, Jagannath Mishra was given the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister of Bihar. Jagannath Mishra remained in office from 11 April 1975 to 30 April 1977. His tenure was of 2 years and 19 days.

After Kedar Pandey, Abdul Gafoor was made the new Chief Minister of Bihar. Abdul Gafoor held the post from 2 July 1973 to 11 April 1975, i.e. for one year and 283 days.

Kedar Pandey was made the Chief Minister after Bhola Paswan Shastri. Kedar Pandey held the post of Chief Minister from March 19, 1972 to July 2, 1973. He remained the Chief Minister for one year and 105 days.

After Karpoori Thakur, Bhola Paswan Shastri was given the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister for the third time. He remained in office from 2 June 1971 to 9 January 1972, i.e. for 221 days.

Karpoori Thakur was made the Chief Minister after Daroga Rai. Karpoori Thakur was the Chief Minister from 22 December 1970 to 2 June 1971, i.e. for 162 days.

After Bhola Paswan Shastri, Daroga Prasad Rai was given the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister. He remained in the post for a total of 309 days from 16 February 1970 to 22 December 1970.

Bhola Paswan Shastri was made the Chief Minister of Bihar for the second time after Harihar Singh. He remained in office for only 12 days from June 22, 1969 to July 4, 1969.

Harihar Singh was made the Chief Minister after Bhola Paswan Shastri on 26 February 1969. He remained in office for 116 days till 22 June 1969.

After BP Mandal, Bhola Paswan Shastri was made the Chief Minister of Bihar on March 22, 1968. He remained in this post for a total of 99 days and left the throne on June 29, 1968.

Bindeshwari Prasad Mandal's tenure as Chief Minister lasted from February 1, 1968, to March 22, 1968. He held the post for approximately 55 days.

Satish Prasad Singh was made the Chief Minister of Bihar after Mahamaya Prasad Sinha. He took the oath of office and secrecy on January 28, 1968 but resigned on the fourth day itself on February 1, 1968.

After Krishna Vallabh Sahay, Mahamaya Prasad Sinha was made the Chief Minister on March 5, 1967. He resigned on January 28, 1968 after serving for about 11 months. In this way, he remained in office for 329 days.

On October 2, 1963, Krishna Vallabh Sahay was given the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister. He remained in his post for more than 3 years. He was removed from the post on March 5, 1967.

After Deep Narayan Singh, Vinodanand Jha was made the Chief Minister on 18 February 1961. He remained the Chief Minister of Bihar till 2 October 1963. His entire tenure was of 226 days.

After the first Chief Minister Shri Krishna Singh, Deep Narayan Singh was made the second Chief Minister of Bihar on 1 February 1961. Deep Narayan Singh could hold this post for only 17 days and he had to step down on 18 February 1961.

He was the first Chief Minister of Bihar. He held this post from 15 August 1947 to 31 January 1961. Apart from this, he was also made interim Chief Minister in 1946. He held the post thrice since independence.
