Kishanganj Constituency, Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024: Kishanganj is one of the 40 Lok Sabha Constituencies in Bihar and is often referred to as the Gateway of Northeast because of its strategic location. It shares a 114-kms border with Nepal. Originally part of the Purnia district, Kishanganj was established as a separate district in 1990. The Lok Sabha constituency is dominated by Muslim voters. It also has as many as six assembly seats – Kochadhaman, Amour, Bahadurganj, Thakurganj, Kishanganj and Baisi. It is noteworthy that Kishanganj has traditionally been a stronghold of the Congress party.
Voting in Kishanganj will be conducted in the 2nd phase on April 26.
As per the election commission, the results for the Kishanganj Lok Sabha Constituency Election 2024 will be declared 4th June.
The Congress has nominated Mohammad Jawed to contest from the Kishanganj seat. JD(U) has given a ticket to 2019 runner-up Mujahid Alam.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the representative of INC, Dr. Mohammad Jawed, won the seat in the Kishanganj by a considerable margin. He gathered a remarkable count of 367,017 votes. The runner-up was a close competitor from JD(U), Syed Mahmood Ashraf, who fell short by a margin of 34,466 votes.
