New Delhi: Bihar’s new voter list has been released. This is the first voter list released after 22 years of SIR. According to the Election Commission, the Bihar Assembly elections will be held based on this voter list.

The SIR generated considerable political rhetoric, and the matter later reached the Supreme Court. The biggest controversy centred on identity cards. Later, after the Supreme Court’s intervention, the Election Commission approved Aadhaar cards as identity cards, which calmed the matter. The final voter list was released on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.

The Election Commission has published the final voter list on the Election Commission’s website. The 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections will now be conducted on this basis.
