Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024: BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal Eyeing 4th Consecutive Win From Paschim Champaran

Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024: Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha seat has been a bastion of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with veteran leader and sitting MP Sanjay Jaiswal winning three consecutive terms since the constituency was carved out in 2008.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Dr Sanjay Jaiswal completed a hattrick of victories from the Paschim Champaran seat when he defeated BLSP’s Brijesh Kumar Kushwaha by a margin of 2,93,906 votes. Amidst a heated electoral battle and a 62 percent voter turnout, Jaiswal secured 6,03,706 votes while  Kushwaha received 3,09,800 votes.

Elections for the Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha constituency will be held on May 25, 2024– Phase 6 of Lok Sabha polls– while votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day.

Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, the current sitting BJP MP, has maintained an iron grip over the Paschim Champaran constituency, and will be eyeing a fourth straight victory from the seat in the 2024 Bihar Lok Sabha Elections.

Meanwhile, the opposition INDIA bloc and its regional ally Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), will be eyeing to capture as many seats in Bihar this time as possible, include the Paschim Champaran constituency while the BJP will be confident following the recent developments which resulted in the NDA once again coming to power in the state after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s latest volte face.

Elections for the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar will be held in all seven phases of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from April 19 to June 1, 2024. Votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day, the Election Commission has announced.
