Katihar Constituency, Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024: Katihar is one of the 40 Lok Sabha Constituencies in Bihar which is surrounded by more than half a dozen rivers. The Katihar Lok Sabha constituency is among the most discussed LS constituency in the region. Politicians like veteran congress leader Sitaram Kesari have represented it. Notably, as many as six assembly constituencies fall under the Katihar Lok Sabha constituency.
Voting in Katihar would be conducted in the 2nd phase on April 26.
As per the election commission, the results for the Katihar Lok Sabha Constituency Election 2024 will be declared 4th June.
The constituency is heading for a straight contest between JD(U) MP Dulal Chandra Goswami and former Union minister Tariq Anwar
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Dulal Chandra Goswami, the JD(U) candidate from the Katihar constituency, came out on top, with a total of 559,423 votes. He was closely followed by Tariq Anwar from the INC, who managed to secure 502,220 votes. However, the competition concluded with Goswami leading by a substantial margin of 57,203 votes, leaving Anwar trailing behind.
