Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024: Sitamarhi Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The Sitamarhi Lok Sabha seat has witnessed mixed results in elections as regional powers, Janata Dal (United) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) swapping the seat over the years with some RLSP and Congress victories mixed in between.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, JD(U) candidate Sunil Kumar Pintu regained the seat from the RLSP, which had won in 2014 polls, by defeating his nearest rival, RJD’s Arjun Ray, by a margin of 2,50,539 votes.

Amidst an average voter turnout of 59.15 percent, Pintu secured 5,67,745 votes while Ray received 3,17,206 votes.

Elections for the Sitamarhi Lok Sabha constituency will be held on May 20, 2024– Phase 5 of Lok Sabha polls– while votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day.

About Sitamarhi Lok Sabha Constituency

The JD(U) is once again aligned with the BJP-led NDA after party supremo and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s latest volte-face. The regional heavyweight will be eyeing to retain the Sitamarhi constituency in the Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024.

Meanwhile, JD(U) former Mahagathbandhan ally, Lalu Prasad’s RJD, will be eyeing to recapture the Sitamarhi seat for the opposition INDIA bloc.

Elections for the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar will be held in all seven phases of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from April 19 to June 1, 2024. Votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day, the Election Commission has announced.
