The BJP-led NDA is once again in power in Bihar after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s latest volte face resulted in the toppling of the Mahagathbandhan coalition government earlier this year. The JD(U) supremo, who was one of the architects of the INDIA bloc, severed ties with the opposition grouping and returned to the NDA fold, and formed a new government in the state with himself at the helm as CM.
The opposition INDIA bloc will be eyeing to capture as many seats in Bihar this time as possible, include the Valmiki Nagar constituency while the JD(U) will feel comfortable with their chances of retaining the same.
Elections for the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar will be held in all seven phases of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from April 19 to June 1, 2024. Votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day, the Election Commission has announced.
