Lok Sabha Elections 2024: LJP Announces Candidates In Bihar, Chirag Paswan To Contest From Hajipur

Patna: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) released its candidates list for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections on Saturday. According to the list, party president Chirag Paswan will be contesting from Hajipur. Other candidates include Rajesh Verma from Khagaria, Shambhavi Choudhary from Samastipur, Arun Bharti from Jamui, and Veena Devi from Vaishali. Bihar, which has 40 Lok Sabha seats, will go to polls in all seven phases starting April 19.

On Thursday, Chirag expressed his confidence in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s Triumph in Bihar, stating that undoubtedly NDA will win all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

“We will get 40 out of 40 seats in Bihar. There is no doubt about it. In 2019, when we were three parties, we won 39 seats out of 40. And as of today, we are five parties, and the enthusiasm among the people shows that we will easily cross the target of 40 seats in Bihar and 400 seats in the country,” ANI quoted Chirag Paswan as saying.  He also met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Thursday.

The dominant NDA party in Bihar has unveiled their seat-sharing details for the imminent Lok Sabha elections on March 18. BJP will be battling it out in 17 constituencies, while JD-(U) will be vying for victory in 16. One seat each has been allocated for Hindustani Aawam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) to make their mark, whilst five seats have been set aside for the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) to assert their influence.
