New Delhi: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has taken major action against his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav. The RJD chief on Sunday, 25 May 2025 expelled Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for six years and snapped ties with him for “irresponsible behaviour not in accordance” with the family’s “values and traditions”.
This happened a day after a post was shared on Tej Pratap’s Facebook profile that showed him with a woman.
Commenting on this issue, Tejashwi Yadav, the younger brother of Tej Pratap Yadav and former Bihar deputy Chief Minister said that the national president has made his feelings clear.
Tejashwi Yadav said that we neither like all this nor do we tolerate it. As far as my elder brother is concerned, he is an adult and he has the right to make his own decisions. What the national president has said about him has been made public. Whatever he is doing in his personal life, he doesn’t ask anyone. We learned about it through you.

Actually, in this whole matter, Lalu Yadav broke his silence and posted on Instagram that the disregard for moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice.
“The activities of my elder son, his public conduct, and irresponsible behaviour are not in line with our family values and traditions. Therefore, due to the above circumstances, I am expelling him from the party and the family.”
It is worth mentioning that Tej Pratap always stays in the headlines due to his statements and actions. This time, his alleged relationship with Anushka Yadav has once again placed his family and party under scrutiny. Although some people consider it merely an aspect of his personal life, as a prominent face of a party and especially as an MLA, this is more than a private matter.
