The Narendra Modi led government presented its first railway budget on Tuesday. Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda made announcements which focussed mainly on developLook at the ment and growth. The budget clearly showed what priorities Narendra Modi government has set and there seemed no half measures as the budget completely debunked the populist policies.

In his hour long speech, DV Sadananda Gowda stressed on social service reforms like cleanliness, women safety and hygiene. Gowda not only announced about the much-awaited Bullet trains– to be run on earlier identified Ahmedabad-Mumbai corridor, but also introduced 58 new trains and extended routes of 11 trains. Of the 58 new trains; five are Jansadharan trains, five Premiuim trains, six AC Express trains, 27 Express trains, eight passenger trains, two Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) and five Diesel Electric Multiple Units (DEMU) service trains.
