New Delhi, Nov 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government on Tuesday took a bold decision and demonetise the existing Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes. The government also announced to introduce new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes. The 2000 rupees note is expected to come in public domain on November 10. Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) today released an advertisement, listing out the features of the new 2000 rupees notes. The new Rs 2000 currency notes will be in pink colour. Putting all the rumours regarding ‘Nano GPS Chip’ in Rs 2000 notes in dust, the RBI made no mention of such device in its ad on new Rs 2000 notes.

One of the few features of the new Rs 2000 notes include picture of Mahatma Gandhi, Swachh Bharat logo with slogan and Motif of Mangalyan. Some features have been included keeping in mind visually impaired persons. To get the new Rs 2000 notes, you will have to wait for few days. 1. See through register with denominational numeral 2000 can be seen when the note is held against light

2. Latent image with denominational numeral 2000 which can be seen when the banknote is held at 45 degree angle at the eye level

4. Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi in the centre

5. Micro letters ‘RBI’ and ‘2000’

6. Colour shift windowed security thread with inscriptions ‘Bharat’, RBI and 2000. Colour of the thread changes from green to blue when the note is tilted

7. Guarantee Clause, Governor’s signature with Promise Clause and RBI emblem towards right

8. Mahatma Gandhi portrait and electrotype (2000) watermarks

9. Number panel with numerals growing from small to big on the top left side and bottom right side
